I sang...

In master class today. So anch'io la virtu magica from Don Pasquale by Donizetti. and i sang dang well to but Kris wasn't very happy. Don't know why. but she wasn't. well actually i have an idea why she is mad. Hmmmm predictament. She was really happy before i sang and then kind of bleh afterwards. She usually tells her students good job when class is over. I purposely kind of waited around for her and she said nothing. Guess I'll get a mouthful in my lesson thursday. Messiah rehearsl was today as well. Didn't go so great. I wasn't warmed up enough and it was freezing in the ensemble hall and it was morning. Anyway. Hopefull Wednesday goes better. I JUST WANT TO COME HOME!

ho hum....my back hurts

And thats because I am old today. Birthday old. On your birthday I think you're supposed to feel birthday old. It isn't like regular old. On your birthday everybody always says how do you feel? Do you feel old? Usually you can't feel old that fast, but on birthdays you can. So it is birthday old. It's a special old. And I feel it today. Except it wasn't really that eventful <--- Is that even right? Anyway. I got to school and Rachel had put balloons on my locker and she put an apple fritter and a smoothie inside. She's good like that. And I hadn't eaten breakfast yet so it worked out kind of perfectly. hmmmm what else. I'm working right now. Not exactly the thing you want to do on your birthday, especially your twentieth. Although I guess it is a good way to kick off my years as a non teenager. You know responsible and whatnot. This year's birthday wasn't as big of a bust as last years though. Thats good. Last year I was driving back to Rexburg and I didn't get to have a cake so mom put one in a bag for me and I had to put it in my trunk and it broke apart. So I had to eat a crumbling un-frosted cake alone when I got back to school. Yeah last year's birthday was pretty bad. But at least this year I got an intact fritter. Whoo-hoo. I think Wallace, my fish, might die. I came home yesterday and he hadn't eaten his food, which never ever happens because Wallace is a hungry boy. Anyway his food was all mushy on the top and his water was sick. It smells like death. So that would be a pretty crappy birthday present to have my fish kick the bucket but oh well. He is an old fish. coming up on two years soon I think. What a trooper. Oh and I curled my hair today too, because you know you want to look somewhat nice on your birthday. At least I think that is commonplace. Anyway everybody said it was pretty even if they didn't kow it was my birthday, so thats nice to hear. And there is a stupid boy, I'll call him BHBII, for butt head boy 2, in honor of my sisters original BHB. And we used to be good friends and then we weren't because of his own dang fault, and I'm not really complaining about that, but still it is rather weird when I say hi and he says nothing. Like today, we have a class together, he knows it is my birthday, and he says nothing. Fine. But just now he walks in the lab and I say hello and he does this awkward smile thing. He can't look me in the eye when he speaks anyway, but he didn't even tell me hello let alone how was your break? or happy birthday. For crying outloud. It may sound selfish but if you all knew the entire situation you agree with me that he is completely and utterly pathetic. Also for all my family I want you to know that I am already on the roll with your christmas present. I might not have them yet but I am pretty clear on what it is that I am getting for you. So go ahead and panic a bit if you want. And to make matters worse I really don't know what I want. I mean realistically I need money, but it is fun to open presents you know and be surprised even if I do know what I am getting because I found it a week early. But still I didn't open anything for my birthday so I want to open at least one present for christmas that isn't a check you know. ohhhhh breaking news. My friends Audra and Patti just came into the lab and brought me a piece of cake! With confetti frosting. Isn't that just the kindest! I have good friends. Speaking of good friends I have good friends with good parents. Over the break I went to canada with Rachel and Laurel. Laurel's parents fed us every meal. I mean I guess that comes with us staying at their house, but still it was so wonderful. And they gave Rachel and I this great room. The Aloha room actually. It had honu all over the place. Reminded me of home. My hawaii home, which will always kind of be like home I think. Anyway they fed us which was awesome, and then Saturday night Rachel's dad gave me a blessing. I really needed one to get me through these last three weeks, so i was really grateful. When it gets down to these last few weeks I always get so emotional. I usually don't cry about stuff, but in the last few weeks of school I cry about almost everything, stupid stuff. Well maybe I don't cry that much, but comparitively it seems like I do. I'm eating my cake. it is delicious. And I just helped someone with finale. Yeah! I get paid for a reason. Sometimes when I spend hours in here and nobody asks for help I feel like I am stealing money from the school, I mean I'm not because I am making myself available to be asked for help, but still. It is nice when somebody actually asks. This is a rally long entry, but I have a lot to say, and a lot of stress so writing helps relieve it a bit. Juries are monday tuesday wednesday the 14-16. I think i am going to go on monday if possible just to get it done and over with, but monday is fast approaching and I don't know if i will be ready or not. I still don't have anything completely memorized. And I haven't starting staging any of my songs either. That could be the kicker for me really. Bahhhhhahahahah. Good thing I have good friends to keep me sane. Rachel and I promised each other that we will keep each other in check these last weeks. Hopefully we keep that promise. I need to. I think I am going to watch last week's episode of the office tonight on my computer as a present to myself. Even though there are a thousand, probably literally a 1000, other things I need and should be doing. Well I am going to finish my cake and go home to FHE and then come back to work. salaam.

Depression

Today I was asked by my teacher to travel to New York and do the Met auditions. For those who don't know that is not only a huge compliment, especially coming from my teacher, but also an opportunity that doesn't come around that often. These auditions are held once a year and are extremmmmely prestigious. When she told me I was literally speechless. I had no idea what to say. Needless to write I've been beyond happy all day and excited and nervous and everything far and between. I mean she was already talking about setting up saturday rehearsals starting this saturday and changing around our whole game plan for this semester. This is a big deal guys. So tonight I am working in the piano lab and I decide that I should probably get online and do some research on the audition and the application process. To my upmost dissapointment I was informed by the website that I miss the birth date cut off by a little over 4 months. You had to have been born before July 14th 1989. Even though this chance to go was only given today I am not taking it very well. I was looking forward to this auditon more than anything. It could have done wonders for me. More than I think you can understand. Anyway I'm really sad about it. Now I have to wait three maybe four years for another shot. Thats a long time. I can only hope that I will be asked to go again. Sorry for the dramaloge, but thats how I feel right now. Super duper depressed and squashed.

Blogger.com is....

patronizing me. When you log on the logo on the upper left hand side has a picture of a piece of chocolate birthday cake just staring at me. Double edged sword. I need to do my journal entries but all I can think about is how badly I want cake. Anyway...heres pictures like a promised:

Why are the peaches always gone?

Peaches have almost all gone completely out of season. Sad sad sad. Today I had to buy nectarines instead, which rally isn't that bad of a trade up, but still I miss my peachies. I'm sitting at work right now...working laboriously. I'm coming down to conference on Friday. We don't have tickets but thats fine. better to be a grandmas house than up here for conference because they close the music building anyway.
This past weekend was pretty swedish. Friday night me and my buuuddies went to the ropes course on campus and did that. Saturday morning we woke up way early...like 5...to hike up the R mountain to watch the sunrise. Came back ate a waffle. Then Jeri, laurel, and i met up with our Zions pal Bryon and went rapelling at Bear Gulch up by the lower Mesa. I have some cool pictures that I'll put up once I get home and to my own computer. Grand!
Thats about it. .
Oh nope it's not. Saturday Rachel and I babysat for my friend Ross. He and his wife have a 3 month year old and haven't been on a date since he was born. Instead of paying us they bought me and rach dinner. They're great, we weren't expecting anything. Before we left his wife Triest gave us each a jar of homemade peach jelly. That stuff is godly let me just tell you. Seriously I want nothing more in life than to drown myself in Triest Grahams peach jelly. Good Glory mercy above. It is divine.

lets talk about .....dates babay, lets talk about you and me.

Ahhh dating. Youths most cherished and at the same time most hated pastime. I myself am not much of a dating advocate. Sure i understand the importance of it and yadda yadda, but still, I just don't enjoy it all that much. Friday night I went to this gig for a group called Nashville Tribute. They are a country group that has made a bunch of "tributes, " who would've thunk, for the prophet Joseph, missionaries, and the pioneers. Now pardon me but, these Mormon tributes can walk the cliff of being dare I say it, corny. Most actually take the plunge. Needless to say, i was very wary going into this concert, thinking I would die a slow painful hand clappin' arm wavin' praisin' above glory glory halleujah death. However. . . drumroll please....I really liked it. It was very well put together, great message, very mormon don't get me wrong, but I didn't feel like I was on one of those Christian revival gospel CD infomericials. I was on a date though. And i must say something here. never, I repeat never take a music major to a musical production if yourself are not a music major, or have a problem keeping your piggy little mouth shut. When i am at a concert I want to listen. Not be talked at. Remember that all. Do a service to yourself and remember that. After the tribute we went back to his house and me and him and his roomate and his date made cinnamon rolls from pillsbury biscuits. The best aprt of this was the popping of the biscuit can. There really is not much more satisfying than popping open a biscuit can. prove me wrong. i dare you. Baking, Eating, unimportant and stupid banter, then home finally. then i went to my summer house and stayed until threein the morning. meaning i slept until 11 today! hazzah! Then I had a date this afternoon with one of my old neighbors from the summer. When he picked me up I literally knew nothing about what we were going to do. And to be honest i was a litte creeped out by that. Anyway he picked me up and told me that we were having the ultimate musical date. Starting with a fiddler on the roof, on the roof lunch. We literally climbed up onto hios roof and he had a whole lunch spread. like chiken parmasgene ( I spelled that wrong.) and pasta and a salad with sauteed mushrooms. yum. And martenelli's of course. Ok so that was cool. And then we dressed up like newsies. he had the shirts and the vests and the hats and all that. And we had newspapers. And we went to his neighbors house and delievered the paper to him. Then he gave us twenty smackers. Then we went to this park by the water tower up y the temple and our friend jon Diaz was waiting there on a blanket with jambe juice. I guess jon went to massage school for a time. So he taught my date how to give proper hand and feet massages. Jon left, and my date gave me a hand and foot massage. Poor boy had to touch my pedi. Then he dropped me off at home and when i got there, there was a single flower waiting with a note that said..for an award winning date. Thats the short of it. But pretty good eh.
So here is what I learned today. my friday night date I was excited for and my date today i was dreading. I was thrown for a loop when my friday date was a dudly dursley, and my date today was a gem. now, i will probably not go on dates with eiother of them again, but still. It proves to me that you should always say yes once to a person who asks you out. You never know how much fun it could be. Then you never have to say yes again. Good moral right. Shwing shwing.

sittin' on the dock of the bay watchin' the tide roll away oohhh....

Momma found this little guy hanging out on my toilet seat! Isn't he just the most. Well before I get much further I must say something. Today I not only went to aerobics and did an hour of kickboxing; I went to the gym later and did 10.01 miles on the elliptical, burning a grand total of 978 calories! I'm basically the hulk. I could squash you with my thumb. And soon I'll be so cut that my pelvic bone will portrude, like all those fit people.

Mercy Mild, Bless my life

First full week of classes....ahhhhha;lskdjf;alksdf;lkjerklnd;lkj!!! Stress already! Abounding heaping mounds of stress! I found out today I have the option of switching my major, and therefore graduating a semester early. What to do!?!? What to do!?!? Oh piffle I'm turning into mom. All these exclamation points all over the place. Plus...it's raining. The weather is a reflection of my inner turmoil. After mom has read this (except now that I am saying something about it, I'm not sure) I'm sure she will write a warm fuzzy comment somewhat resembling the following: You can get through these hard times! We're thinking about you and your in our prayers. Love you Dolly. End future quote. Pretty good eh? Anyway. We are having the all too redundant ward opening social tonight. BBQ at the park and get to know you games. I'm grabbing a hot doggy and splitting. I'm too old for this people. I'm practically 20. ;) Cool right? I know. Even the fish is mimickingmy moods. He looks dead, although he is not. Promise. I have auditions for Opera Scenes on Wednesday. Hopefuly that goes well. I need to practice tonight a lot. Refresh myself on the song. You know the bishopric should really just cancel the activity due to uhh you know large amounts of falling moisture and promptly hand deliver a pizza to each apartment. Brilliant. Oh! I have successfully consumed 19 peaches since Tuesday. Pretty grand if you ask me. I actually think I am starting to smell like a peach. I'm going to go now and reluctantly drive to the nonsensical BBQ. Au Revoir

Back to School, Back to School, To prove to Daddy I'm Not a Fool

The summer has come to close, and it is bitter-sweet. Is bitter-sweet one word? Please let me know. Anyway, right before school started dad, mom, Aunt Nance, Tiff, and I went to New York for a couple of days. What an amazing trip, let me just tell you. First off I sat 9 seasts down from Rihanna at the Lion King on broadway. Thats how you know whats up. We had legit tickets if we were sitting on the same row as her. Best believe. And to my surprise I liked the show much much more than I liked Wicked. Not sure about Les Mis, but that is hard to compare because Les Mis is closer to an opera than a musical. mostly because of the content. Beyond the point, the show was absolutely ridiculous...in a good way. They had elephants and giraffes and who knows what coming down the side isles and I was on the end so they were all up in my face singing to me. Basically it was the bees knees. Ohhhh and we ate at this Amish market that if I had the choice I would stay in forever. Seriously they had some of the bect looking food you could imagine. Quick insert. Ok. So I just got on facebook and looked through my new york pictures again because people had commented on them and to my horror they look GRAINY!!!! Like really really grainy. I have to go real quick. Things came up. Later Gator.

temple trip

Mom and I went to the temple today to do family names. Turns out I should read through the names mom gets before I actually do the baptisms for them. Heres the reason. One of the names was "Mrs." thats it. I mean come on. For all we know it could Mrs. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or Mrs. Spock (and Spock was his full name mind you because vulcans only have one proper name due to their invisible alphabet to account for their unpronouncable syllables). Anyway I read it on the screen and busted up laughing...in the font....while half blinded from chlorine. good stuff.

Back in the saddle again...or in other words Maryland

Since being home..for two days might i add... I have been to the gym twice, mowed the lawn, gone to the commissary, exchange, and costco. I have also eaten myself sick with fruit and successfully caught up on this season of So You Think You Can Dance. Altogether I haven't been extrememly productive. Except today I briefly went antique-ing. My how I love that. I'll post pictures probably tomorrow. Until then Guten Nacht.

slack linging + cops + polygamists = 4th of July weekend

Zions Narrows (above)

Let me tell you that being back at school is a total and complete nightmare after the gnarly weekend I've just had. On wednesday night me and three roomates packed up and drove to Zion's national park. We arrived there at about 2:30 in the morning Thursday, slept for a few hours, woke up, and went hiking! Zion's beautiful this time of year, absolutely beautiful. The first day we hiked Hidden Canyon and Emerald Pools. Friday we hiked the Narrows and Saturday we hiked the Subway. To do the Subway you have to have a permit because they only allow 20 people a day. They do this in order to preserve the environment and so things don't get really backed up. The actual hike is only 9.5 miles but it takes forever because there are a bunch of technical spots. Back to the permits for a second. So, usually people apply for the permits like three months in advance, and it is done by a lottery. Just because you apply first doesn't mean you'll get it. A few permits are set aside for walk ins at the park (that would be our group). To get those walk in tickets you have to be at the park at 6 in the morning waiting for the rangers to open up. People get there at like 4 in the morning though, and due to fourth of july weekend being the busiest weekend in Zion's people were getting there at 2. Ridiculous. Our friend Bryon (the big cheese) who was with us volunteered to go wait in line at 1:30 to TRY and get permits. Turns out when you are third person in line you have some power. The two people ahead of Bryon were getting permits for another hike so Bryon was first for the Subway. Miraculously he got our eight permits....but further back in line were these three guys. They knew they were so far back that they wouldn't get in so they bartered with us. They offered to pay for all the permits if Bryon would ask for 11 instead of eight. Of course he did. Duh. Who wouldn't? It worked out perfectly because the maximum group size is twelve and we had eleven. Perfect right?! basically what I'm getting at is that the Subway is a hot commodity and we are dang lucky to have gotten the opportunity to do it, especially on the fourth of July.

Moving on. We stared the Subway at about 10:30 and got out by 6:30. Afterwards my car and our new friend Jenny from Russia packed up our campsite and headed off to St. George to meet up with some friends from school. We went up to this bluff to watch fireworks. My roomate Jeri and I still had a lot of energy and decided we wanted to hike down the bluff and back up again. Right as we jumped down off the ledge the cops showed up saying that we were in the blast area and had to leave immeadiately. Well jeri and I hid. The ledge we jumped off was a overhang so we tucked underneath it right against the wall. Everybody left and the dumb cop came by with a flash light at least 3 or 4 more times catching people and kicking them out, but he never saw us. Poor man is blind. We ended up staying up there and watching the foreworks. It was pretty epic.

Ok here goes the crazy bit. One of our friends we met up with, lawrence, was borned in raised in Colorado City,. if you know anything about colorado city you know it is the FLDS headquarters. Lawrence was born and raised in polygamy before he and two brothers converted. He has four moms and 40 brothers and sisters. Since we were close to Colorado City we decided to spend the night there. let me tell you, that house was huuuuge. Me and my roomates ended up sleeping on the trampoline, but still. We were at a polygamists house for goodness sake. How fetching cool is that. Heinous. Anyway those people are the nicest hardest working people ever. Their roads aren't paved and there is sand all about so a bunch of peoples cars got stuck. Man alive those polyg boys were so quick to get out and start pushing it wasn't even funny. I really respect them...well their work ethic at least. Quite the experience to say the least. The nezxt day we woke up and started the drive back to rexburg. On the way we stopped in to a sacrament meeting and also I dropped my Morgan to say hi to everybody. Dar and Shay were back and happy as well as jamo and Larissa. Construction across from Grandma's is insane. It looks super nast. Anyway I have to go do some stuff. i wish I had more pictures but my camera was in a dry bag most of the time and a hassle to get in and out. But I will put up a link to my facebook album that has the few pictures from the trip. Love all.

*mind.... not all the pictures are from Zions. They are from the whole summer semester so far.

Creating Your Own Family History

So, as most know I am taking a family history class this semester. We had a group assignment due Monday and my group was presenting on family histories. My portion of the presentation was to discuss how you can start compiling and creating your own family history, and it was a topis that really intrigued me. I figured I would blod about what I learned. here goes:

I. What should be included in your own book of remembrance?
From the research and reading that I did I found that spiritual and ecclesiastical experiences should be included. This includes church records, inspired writings, testimonies, genealogies, and biographies. A passage from "Genealogy: The Book of Remembrance" reads, "Members of the church should be encouraged to make their books of remembrance a record of spiritual and ecclesiastical experiences as was done anciently. The book shoudl never become a catchall for miscellaneous records. Pictures, portrait pedigrees, and the like may be added, but nothing should detract from the sacredness of this record." It goes on to say, "A knowledge of written testimonies and spiritual experiences of family members binds the hearts of the children to the fathers and helps them understand the doctrines that pertain to the exaltation of the family." Now I know it said in the quote that miscellaneous records should be avoided, but I feel that there are a place for those things. My suggestion was to make two separate books. The one family history would be a more formal account of gospel related things and the other would be a "secular book" I guess. Something more like a scrapbook, for things such as family reunions.

II. Be guided and inspired what to include and record by the holy spirit.
In yours book of remembrance should be found the story of the family, especially the story of its spiritual life, written by inspiration. The language of inspiration is pure and undefiled. The Spirit of the Holy Ghost will dictate to you which of those spiritual experiences you may wish to share with family members to help increase their testimonies of the Gospel. Those can include, but are not limited too: missionary experiences, conversions stories, blessings (patriarchal, fathers, etc.). Personal characteristics; traits you and others have noticed, things like patience, integrity, etc. Also gospel principles; principles and doctrines you have come to truely appreciate and understand during your lifetime.
Remember you might not understand why you are writing these things down, they may not be for you, but for your posterity. "Men should write down things which God has made known to them."

III. Outline for a Family History: How it should be set up
1. Personal records - HIGHLIGHTS of each family members life. Kind of like a timeline
2. Biographies - A more detailed formal account of each members life
3. Sacred personal and family experiences
4. Genealogies (these are just suggestions, you can include as many as you want!)
- 4 to 5 generation pedigrees
- Family Group Sheets

IV. Start NOW!
What better time? The longer you wait the harder it is to retrieve and recall some of this information.

There you have it folks. Family history is bomb.

Great Harvest Bread

HAZZAH!!! So I am on this no sugar diet and my roomate LIndsay came home from the temple today with a loaf of cinnamon burst great harvest bread. Of course I am in serious distress because I love cinnamon burst bread. The search began. I got online to try and find the igredients in before mentioned bread. After about an hour of searching I found out that Great Harvest subsitutes refined sugar for honey! Natural sugar! So I can eat it! And I did!

"it don't matter if you're black or white"

Today Michael Jackson died. A huge blow to the music world. Soon after finding out, I refused to believe it. But it is in fact true, the man in the mirror is gone. I went on a tribute bike ride and listened to his whole "Bad" album. Tommorrw I will commemorate by wearing all black. All those who wish to join me are welcome.

Rest in Peace Mich-o

ate a slice of wonder bread and went back to bed

Howdy all. Well i'm sitting at work again. No fear...I am allowed to do this sort of thing while at work as long as nobody in the lab is working finale or audacity. Speaking of computer things I must make a plug for pandora.com. It has gotten me through many a dark day at work and long study sessions. For all of you that have not yet registered for pandora and experienced the genius that it is should get on that ...like now. Currently I am listening to the Regina Spektor station and occasionally I switch to the Third Eye Blind station as well.

Ok so this weekend there are only four out of the twelve at my house. It is weird. Due to this the four of us are going to gather together and build a fort, sleep in it, and watch dance flicks. In other news, I would have you know that I have registered to run in the dam marathon (thats straight up what we call it madre. Sorry if your ears are bleeding). Mind it is really the teton dam marathon and I am only running the 5k but still, that is pretty nifty. Ooohh I even get a swag bag. Comments on swag bags: 1) the word swag is ultimately cool. 2) swag bags usually have free food samples...heh heh yeah. 3) included in my swag bag is a shirt that says "I ran the dam marathon" baaha we think we are funny in eastern Idaho.

Last night me and my roomate Rachel went to music in the park. An earwig crawled up my leg and I saw a really cute dog. Then we went and did a service project. An excellent service project. BYU-I is trying out a new program where a few wards sign up to plant flowers on campus. So we all met up and the school provided all these flowers and we planted them. We got signs to put in our beds that say something along the lines of BYU-I and the grounds people would like to thank the 18th ward (thats me!) for planting this here garden of luscious foliage. What was most awesome, was walking past those flowers today and saying "Hey, I did that!" Afterward Rachel and I went to pita pit. sooooo satisfying.

Well I just took some pictures of myself sitting at my computer at work. I think I will put them up now. Don't know why the lighting is so different in them. Oh well.

Flibbity Gibbits

It feels good to be updating this again. Lots of things happened all at once and writing posts got to be a low priority. but......I'm taking a family history class and our teacher highly recommended that we keep a regular blog/journal. Dear me I'm righteous. I'll start off this little ditty with a story for the books....or for Amy..and mom...and siblings who remember. Anyway during sunday school last sunday I raised my hand to read from the scriptures. Well, the teacher is regrettably trying to learn everybodies name in the class. He looks at me and says the classic line, "oh oh don;t tell me I'm going to get it," even though we all know he won't. Then he says "Lisa right?" There you go Amy. Obviously you were on to something back then. Hmmm what else.? Summer in Rexburg is quite the experience. Weather is bipolar as always. All last week we had 50+ mph winds. Every single last shingle got blown off our roof and all the dirt from the track in the staduim is now make shift pavement on the adjacent street. Crazy. However, yesterday it was 85 degrees and in celebration my FHE group went to snake river and jumped in. Needless to say it was cold. Then we sat on the dock and had a lesson while sipping back homemade rootbeer and munching on brauts..brawts...? Soooooo goood. I love me some meat. Speaking of which I have discussed with mom how excited I am to come home for the seven week break and BBQ. Dear gracious my life I want to barbeque. I want steak with herb butter and A1 with some feta and grape tomato salad. Ahhhh life is good in my brain. On the topic of food. I greatly dislike celery but I am determined to learn to like it. Tomorrow I'm going to go buy some and eat it until I like it. Will power is a beautiful thing. Truely.
Music: Lately the song "Two Princes" by the Spin Doctors has been stuuuuuck in my head. Can't shake it. I don't mind though.
Recipe: I've been into turkey wraps. here's what I do and it is super delish. Get a tortilla. Put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. When the tortilla is steamin' spread mustard on it. Then get some canned turkey warm it up in a can with seasoned salt. Put that turkey in the wrap. Cover the turkey with a fairly good amount of spinach leaves. Fold in any manner that you so desire. Then you stuff. Party for the buds.

I can breathe!

SCHOOL IS OVER! For a week at least, then I go back to start it all over again. Juries went well and I'm pretty sure I passed all my classes. Even ear training. Now I'm one semester away from being done with it forever...until grad school. Today grandma woke me up early so I could catch the early bird sales at Kohls and JC Penny's. All I wanted to do was sleep in, but I know she meant well. I bought a new dress at Kohl's and my wedding shoes at some store in the mall. They're pretty nice. Hmmm what else. OH! We're having a big family dinner tomorrow at Grandma Spencer's house and Grandma is in charge of making deviled eggs. No specific number of eggs was ever requested, so Grandma made 4 dozen. Which actually means she made 8 dozen, one they are cut in half. Moving on. We had to peel all 4 dozen today and we threw all the shells down the sink and it got clogged. Beyond clogged. So clogged she made me plunge the sink for 20 minutes. hahahaha then she said your doing a bad job so she took over. Let me tell ya it is funny thing to see your grandma plunging the sink.
Jumping backwards. I moved into my new house on Friday and left my poor fish there. Everybody pray for my dear Wallace that he doesn't die without food for a week.
I've been watching sappy movies on TV all day. What a way to spend vacation. Singing off.

Finals Week . . .

Starts monday. Oh my heck. And I can't sing. That is a biggggg problem. I had a lesson with Kris Ciezinski on Friday and she tore me apart. I basically have to relearn all my music. Plus we had white glove today. It is still snowing in Rexburg. I decided to stay in Rexburg for the summer and take classes. Problem is the semester starts in two weeks and I have no place to live. In the meantime I have to make sure to get registered for all my new classes and pass my juries and all other finals. And find a dress and shoes for amy's wedding because I got all chunky mcgee from stress and now I don't fit into my bridesmaid dress from Jeff's wedding. GGGGggggayyyyyy. Al I do is complain complain complain. Anddd my nice winter peacoat is covered in dog hair. And I want cannnndy. Badly. Ok bye

Spring is...not here

I don't mean to sound so upset but I mean really. All the snow was completely melted and people were walking around with short sleeves and shorts. We're talking like 60 degrees. So what happens? I wake up this morning and it is snowing. Fledging snowing. Jus when you think it is going to be Spring. No No No. No Spring for Rexburg. Surprise.
On Sunday our FHE brothers came over, but they come over every Sunday. And usually we play Settlers of Katan. This Sunday however, we watched Newsies because I needed to. I physically needed to watch Newsies and see Spot Conlon in his twelve year old glory capture my heart all over again. And let me tell you he did. What a champ. And I ate another two pounds of applesauce, and a box of spaghetti noodles (raw of course) and some cereal. Oh and my roomate Shea and her fiance let us have some of their Strawberry shortcake stuff. That was very kind of them.
Once the boys left Nyssa, Sarah and I watched A Princess Bride. That was nice. Then I went to bed and woke up late. BUtttttt not that late, just late for me. I was completely in time for work.

Life is making me Kranky

laskjdfhkjwnr;oaihsfd,ng;kjhasdf. I have no idea what to do with my life. The semester is almost over. I'm in no way even remotely ready for that. Good thing I have amazing friends to keep me sane. Next weekend will be a relief. I'm going on an overnight cross country skiing trip. Hopefully that calms me down a bit. OKay I need to eat something now. Bye

Apples the size of baby heads

It's true. I bought these apples. It takes me like an hour to eat them. And it blows because these pictures really don't really show the magnitude of their size.

PI DAY = 3.14

Opera Scenes went marvelously last night. I was very very pleased! And that never happens to me. I'm never happy with my performance. Given I haven't listened to the recording yet, and that will probably change my mind, but as for now I am happy. Updating this often is proving to be a problem the closer we get to finals. Fair? I think so. But, Opera Scenes will be over after Monday; that will clear up my evenings. . . .and I will be able to watch Lost on Wednesday nights! Watching them on the computer the next day just isnt' the same. I've recieved two missionary letters in the past week. One from my friend Bronson in Washington and one from Mikey's companion Elder Judd in Guatemala. This is the second letter I've gotten from him, and I think Mikey wants us to fall in love. Silly boy. Oh bother. It has been like three weeks since I have done laundry. I need pants. Wow. How odd. I haven't written in over a week, but I can't think of anything to say. Last week Friday we had our Durafle requiem concerts. They were life changing. Truely a blessing to be a part of it. I'll try and get a copy of the recording. Techinically I could buy one for five dollars, but I would much rather just burn somebody elses that spent five dollars. Oui!
Friday night (last Friday night) Rachel, Laurel and I went to the comic frenzy show. It likes our schools improv team. Afterwards the two boys sitting next to Rachel asked her how she liked the show. She responded that she liked it and that was the end of the conversation. Then, they followed us out to the fishbowl, without saying anything. They lurked in silence, like the common creeper does. Then. . one of them jabbed outwards and poked Rachel on the shoulder. First rule of thumb: Never poke a anybody, especually a girl when trying to get their attention. It is rude. Call them by name, or like in this case when one doesn't know the name of the potential poke victim, you say excuse me may I ask you something. Continuing on. He pokes her. She turns. He says uhhh umm ahh uhh do you want to go get ice cream with me and my friend. Rachel, being Rachel, says yes. So we go to Craigo's to get a cookie monster, and the boys end up talking about Star Wars like the whole time. Weird.
I wrote a 20th century composition for my theory class. I named it Fish Crackers. It seemed appropriate at the time. Still does actually. My teacher wasn't particularly impressed by my choice, but really that doesn't matter because they aren't grading on my title.
Bugger, I ran out of quarters just now and I have to finish my laundry. I better figure out a solution for that. Ok I go. Byiee.

Blasted Brahms

Brahms is a bugger. I don't really like his music. Verdi on the other hand is a wonder. I was reading through my old blogs today and it is miracle that you guys still read them, because all I do is complain complain complain. So I officially apologize. I GOT A NEW PHONE! And it works. Jolly good really. And tomorrow I'm getting my car fixed. And....I went to the gym two days in a row. That fetching pwns. I told myself no vending machine food for the rest of the semester, but this morning I was really angry about my car and my phone and my voice (because I can't get it to do Handel runs lately, and that my friends is a concern) so I bought chewy runts. Surprisingly enough they were like a little present for my mouth. Especially the green apple flavor. OH OH. I had my costume fitting for Opera Scenes and my outfit is supremely awful. Crap I'm complaining again. But now I have to say it. Okay, well as I have said earlier I am suppsed to be a peasIant bride; about the age of 15. My teacher gave her specific costume requests to the costume people and to us so that we wouln't walk in there oblivious. My character is supposed to have a cream colored full skirt and a bodice and blah blah and a little danty flower hand dress and ribbons all over. Dumb costume girl handed me a white Renaissance princess dress. Not at all what I need. Then to top it off my head dress is an actual birds nest I think. It is all sticks and leaves and there is just this massive clump of nasty fake flowers same dab in the middle of my forehead. Seriously this thing is ginormous. I look more like a fool dressing like a fool than a bride. Sad. Moving on. Haven't made a decision for this summer still. Still moving on, the weather here is absolutely excellent. Instead of snow, we have had rain, which melts the snow! Mind you there is still some snow, but not like it was. I think that is about it. Except my theory teacher gave me a high five today for finding a most excellently hid countersubject in the Provokiev piece we are analyzing. Two snaps for me. Good night and good luck my fellow Americans.

Froot Loops and Scrabble

Today I ate cereal for dinner and played scrabble for dessert. It was a grand time. This week has been all sorts of jumbled. First off my phone is forever broken. No getting around it. The actual piece of the of the phone where the charger hooks in ripped out of my phone. Broke the circuit completely off. It is silly really how badly I get along without a phone. Makes life difficult. Opera scenes are really coming along. We perform in two weeks. This weekend we have Durafle requiem. Work is also going well. Nothing to report. But, I'm getting my hours and making money. Still, no decision forthe summer. I'm still waiting to hear back on a job. Whether i get it or not will be the decider on where I end up for the five months. There are only five weeks left in school so that means my life is going to get far more less exciting. All work. No play. Too much to do. But that is how it has to be. OH, today in sacrament meeting callings were still being extended, and I got called. Of course I was extremely confused because I had heard nothing of it. So I was supposed to stand up, but I didn't because I thought there was a mistake. Afterward i went up to the second councelor and asked him about it and I guess it was right. It really is my calling (Family history worker) and they just never told me about it. They felt really bad. But hey ho now I have two callings. Cool. Grandma Spencer will be excited I bet. Okay well I'm off. Night.

:( Emoticon

I have to decide what to do this summer and it is REALLY stressful. Uber stressful. I have no idea. So I am stress eating like you wouldn't believe. Like I have gained an easy 5 pounds. And my hair is greasy. Gahh. Okay enough self pity. Now to catch up since Monday. Well I bought Titanic. That is pretty much the only good thing that happened. Except last night I went to the John Phillip Sousa concert (my roomate Sarah performed in it and did fabulously), then I went to comic frenzy, and we came home and had a poutine party. And I watched Kung Fu Panda and it is soooooo funny. Today I went on a date to my school's production of Burdens of Earth. The play was written by a professor at BYU and it is about Joseph Smiths time in Liberty Jail. I highly recommend seeing it if possible. Very thought provoking. Other than that I have been ridiculously lazy and stressed and baaaahhhhh. What else to say. You know what is crazy. Back in the Renaissance day puny little peasant no names and the random water gypsy would compose some motets. But....because they were so wimpy (socially speaking and also probably in stature) they would attribute their works to famous composers and then publish them. For example their is this motet called Milles Regretz and supposedly it was written by Josquin des Prez......but the work was discovered like 50 years after he was dead. So historians were like dude Jo died 50 years ago this can't be his song, but there is no way to prove it so his name stays on it and the wimpy limp leg is up in heaven laughing, saying bah hah now my song is famous. Poor Josquin, what if the motet railed hard core. Stinks for him. He would get blamed for a royally bad song. How unfortunate. Okay well just ponder that for a bit. Namaste.

Busy busy dizzy busy...take that

So thats how it's going to be eh? Taking pictures of our schedules eh? Well ok then. The blog war begins. This was last week. Doesn't that look nice. And the next one was earlier this month. And below that is Shahrukh Kahn. All this is in jest of course....of course? I do not wish to make a mockery of your busy schedules by any means. That has never been my intention.

Moving on now. Before I forget. Monday was our wards Valentines Day party and when we got there the party planning coommittee (I have to double most the letters because I don't know which ones are supposed to be) split us up so that each FHE group was competing with another group. Well one of the challenges was to eat a gallon of ice cream, and while doing so your wrists were tied to the person on either side of you. I hate to lose. So I repeated yelled at my group . . . . and threatened them as well. Needless to say, we won. We killed actually. Ours was the only group to finish the whole thing. . . and we did it in four minutes. I'm pretty sure I did most of the eating, and I am very proud of that fact.

Okay on to this weekend. I can't remember friday night. Oh yes I can. I went to see Austrailia in the cheap theaters. Saturday we went to the hot springs which were really dirty, but fun. They have this really cold water pool. Like cold cold cold. And just to prove how man we were Rachel, Julie and I sat in it for 5 minutes. Awesome. My body. Was practically dead. Then we made an appearance at the bollywood party, then we went to broulims and bought food. Then we got Titanic and watched it. It was sooooo romantic. I ate lots of cookie dough during it. Sunday morning we went to mass in St. Anthony. Catholics are sweet. During the part when everybody turns around and greets their neighbor and says peace be unto you, I said oh thanks. What?! Really who the heck does that. Stupid. I even know that I'm not supposed to say that. Oh well. Then I went to real church and then we watched Pearl Harbor. Today we had quartet practice and we CAME UP WITH A NAME. It's the Dapper Dames. Cool huh! It's so perfect. Ok well thats about it. I will go now. peace. Namaste.

Gorge yourself....it's valentines

I plan on excessively eating candy today. Happy Valentines all! Crap holiday. My feelings won't change until I have a husband. . . who will be musically talented and ultimately resemble Hugh Jackman; a gift. AHHHHH I'm going to be an aunt again! Ridiculously exciting! My name suggestions are as follows. For a girl: asher and nickolai. For boys: miles and chase. I have reserved the right to name my first born tucker. So back up that train real quick. OK. Plans for today. I think me and some fine people are going to go to the dunes and sled and then go to the hot springs. Tonights plans are still up in the air. Either I can go to rachels and watch Titanic. Or I can go to Erin's and have a bollywood party. But they are going to watch Namaste London, a disaster of a film. However most people going to the party have never seen a bollywood so Erin has to show a mild bollywood so people don't get scared away. Namaste London doens't have any reincarnation in it or any other crazy bollywood themes. So yeah. I like the real bollywood so I probably won't go. I have to go make ladoos. I will finish this later. Salaam.

Muttin' Bustin'

I'll muttin' bust you if you don't watch it. So tonight we had our spirit week rodeo. For a part of it they had the wee little kinsfolk of the schools teachers and staff come and do muttin' bustin', where instead of steer riding, they ride sheep. These kids were little though. I'm talking ages 4-7. What were their parents thinking? They could have been killed. Bucked and Baaaaa'ed upon. Sad sad. Overall the rodeo was pretty bomb. OHhhh, and I got my passport in the mail today so now I can legally go to Canada next weekend. Shwing. Right now I am eating beans. On Thursday we had Opera Scenes and we staged part of the scene, mostly just the recits. So Don Giovanni at this point has convinced me to go away with him and betray my soon to be husband. At the end of our duet "La ci Darem la Mano" he has to kiss me. It's awkward enough because he is married and also because he looks like he could be my father, I am so dweebishly small beside him. Anyway on Thursday he wasn't prepared with his music. Nothing was learned, so Kris (a women and our director and wife of Norman and world renowned Opera Diva) stepped in for him. So now I am being seduced by a women. Weird. And we get to the kiss part and she is actually going in for it. So when my teachers face is literally a centimeter away from mine I am thinking oh my heck what the crap my teacher (a women) is about to kiss me. How odd. Most surreal sensation of my life. In the end she just kissed me on the cheek.....very close to my mouth......and no this isn't harrassment....this is just Kris Ciezinski doing what she does best, which is being herself and awkward. Now tomorrow morning we get to stage the rest of the scene and review the last one. Joy. How terribly exciting. Now I must bid adieu. For my bed time has come and gone. Namaste.

Bacon

Bacon oh bacon how I love you. How I love to smell you and eat you and savor your taste. But alas I cannot because I don't have any. Crap. So I have a lot to catch up on. Thursday was sick. I had a dictation test for ear training, which I think went okay. It was so long ago I can't remember what else I did. OH I had Opera scenes. That went well. Man I know Thursday was busy but I have no idea what else I did. Wait. Yes I do. I know what I did. I went to forum at 2 and I had a workshop for work at 4:30 and then after Op Shop I practiced with my accompanist. Then I practiced with my Broadway Revue group. Then I had to meet with my theory group to get our presentation on Debussy ready. Friday I was supposed to have my theory presentation but we ran out of time. I hate that. It is awful to be ready and then not able to go. And I had my lesson with Norman and bless his little South African heart. He tried to teach me how to trill even though he has never trilled before because he is a Wagner tenor. Moving on. It was hilarious though. He was doing a terrible job explaining trills. Friday night I had Broadway Revue. I sand like crapo but the rest of my group did great. Truely though I was like honky mcgee. My voice was trippin out. That night Rachel and Laurel and I went to the Backyard Grill and I got a Barbeque Swiss Chicken Burger. My mouth died from pure bliss. Rachel and I went back to the Snow and studied for our Music Lit test. Sleep. Saturday. Rachel and I got up early because we planned on going to the temple. Turns out I haven't moved my car since it started snowing. There was big blocks of ice behind the tires and needless to say we were stuck. Haha Rachel had to push the front of my car in her skirt. She's such a stud. Once we were unstuck we drove to the temple just to find out there was already a two hour wait for baptisms at 8:30 AM. So we left and went to the snow to study for our Lit test.. . . . . . and we studied our butts off and were all set to take the test online and when we logged onto I-learn the test folder was empty. I facebooked my teacher and told him he needed to put up the test like right then. And he did! I started the test it was going fine then I realized I had to go meet Kris Ciezinski (Normans wife) to pick out my rep. I left my computer open saved all the answers I had done and went upstairs to her office. I ended up staying for an entire lesson and she actually taught me to do trills because I told her that Norman was failing miserably. Cool experience. When we finished I went downstairs and my computer deleted all my short answers. So I had to completely start over my test and when I finished it like 5 hours later and pushed submit it said system error contact your system administrator. GGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAHHHHHH! My entire test didn't submit. So gay. Now I'm mad. Basically I spent from 9:30 AM to 7:30 in the Snow working on that dang test and nothing good came from it. But at 7:30 I went to the Vocal Point concert with Rachel and we had reserved seats but when we got there some really old couple was in our seats and we obviously couldn't kick them out so we scoped out different seats and lo and behold there were 2 in the very middle in the the very front row. Lucky. The concert was brilliant. Afterward we went back to Rachel's house and ate a ridiculous amount of ice cream. I came home I slept I woke up today at 11:00. Went to church at 1:30 and that was that. Now I am doing this. Cool beans. And now I have nothing to say. So I will post the link to the Broadway Revue video and call it good. Namaste.

Letters are cool

Today I got a card from Jeff and Bekka and a letter from Mikey! Fabulous. And also today I had an amazing practice session. Everything just kind of clicked in my voice. That it is very rare experience for voice majors. Today was also very long though so I am going to shower and then sleep. And it will be grand. At least it better be because I have been looking forward to sleeping all day. OK byieeeeee

My best friends are the SPK

Thats short for sour patch kids. I love those things. They are a gift. A beautiful invention. But also my demise. I spend all my monies on them. Mom said I can only eat them after I accomplish something. However I decided that me staying sane is an accomplishment so I should get to eat them all the time right? Righto. Moving on. Cool news. On either Friday or Saturday some lady went to the Barbershop festival and really enjoyed my quartet. She contacted Brother Kempton (one of our vocal staff) because supposedly he is in her ward. Anyway she asked if our group would provide 15 to 20 minutes of entertainment at their ward Cub Scout banquet on Feb. 18. Of course we said yes. That means we have to brush up on Mr. Sandman from last year and have that ready to go. Because we don't have that much music prepared we asked one of our fellow barbershoppers to get his quartet and come along with us. I think it should be grand. Hmmmmmm what else. This week has had gnarly weather. Today was -30 with the wind chill and -22 without. Thats Rexburg for ya. And it has been snowing non-stop all day. Pitiful. Every school is shut in the district except ours obviously. Today I learned why...and I will share. Below -18 the diesel fuel in the buses congeals so the buses won't start and they can't get the kiddies to school. Interesante. I vote that instead of walking all college students must ride buses. OH! I got a letter from my friend Dano yesterday. He's on his mission in Sierra Leone Africa. Neat. He wrote it on 12/21 and I just now got it. Thats real snail mail. Truely. I bet in Africa they have snails as big as some peoples heads and they strap mail to their shells and send them across the barren desert landscape. Forging a slimey trail. I totally feel like time is working against me. I have to go now and do more stinking work. Before I forget though I will put up a link to our other video. It is the same night just a different angle. When Laurel puts up hers I will link those too. cool Namaste.

Uncooked Noodles....

I can't stop eating them. It's awful. Well no it is rather satisfying, but I eat them like a crazy person. At the moment Nyssa is reading Harry Potter 7 and she is acting like she has never read it before. I shall give an example. *ahem* this is Nyssa reading......"hahahahaha i love ron" silent reading "giggle giggle I don't know why i am laughing" silent reading "Crap! They figured out it was hermione" silent reading "Ron Tonks died :(" silent reading "OH no" silent reading "i'm at this part with the horcrux and the sorry I'm interrupting chuckle chuckle." .......That is what has been going on for the past two hours.

Today was a good Sunday. I slept in until 11. I haven't done that in ages. I haven't been able to do that in ages. Brilliant. Then we had church. And and and I got to wear my rain boots to church because Rexburg is basically a giant mound of dirty slush. Then I came home ate ramen for dinner and did all my religion homework. Boooooo tomorrow is Monday. That means school. Lame lame. Well as I promised I will put up videos. In fact I'll put up two. The are both the same performance but at different angles. When I get the video of Friday's performance from laurel I'll put that one up too. ......ok forget putting up two tonight. This takes forever to load. I'll do the other one and then after that i'll just put up links to youtube.

We're All SING-LE!

Thats the name of our barbershop group. I'm exhausted and I just got home........don't hate I know it is past curfew. But I was doing worthwhile things. :( Barbershop is officially over. Sad. It is always so much fun. The performance tonight was pretty good. We sang better but the audience was a little dead. And either the mic was hot or I sang too loud. I guess it should also be considered that I am in fact closest to the mic because I'm the same height as it. Continuing. I 'll put up a video tomorrow because I'm too tired to figure out how to upload it tonight. I will put up pictures though. Now I just have to hit it. Night all. I'll post good stuff tomorrow tomorrow i love ya tomorrow.

It is Actually Friday

Truely though? I can't believe I survived this week. I shouldn't say that though because it isn't technically over, but I can't believe I still have the capability of breathing after this school week. First off I officially started tutoring my students at the reading center. So far so good. I am now a certified Woodcock Test administrator so this week I did that with all my kids. Next week I will actually have lesson plans to teach. Enough with boring work.
Yesterday was crazy crazy. I didn't get home from school until 11:59 on the dot. On minute from curfew. When I say I got home from school at 11:59 I mean it literally. No hanging out with friends or food breaks. Straight up work from 7:30 until then. And I only went home once and it was for an hour to do clean checks. I'm not looking for pity p.s. However now I know the semester has officially begun. I've already re-adjusted to spending 15 hours a day at school. It's normal for the average music major, at least up here. Good news though. Last night at 9:30 we had our Broadway Revue audition and my group made it! The performance is next week Friday at 7:30 in the Kirkham auditorium. Also, today we had auditions at 4-4:30 for the Barbershop competition. I'll explain this because it's a little weird the way it is organized. Okay so.....the second week of school (this is the end of the third today) people form barbershop quartets and pick music. Then everybody registers their quartets in the music office and sign up for a clinician session. The sessions were in 15 min long blocks on Tuesday this week. 15 minutes isn't enough time to do squat and we only had two weeks tops to learn our music perfectly so we definitely needed more than 15 minutes. Moving on. Today and tomorrow is the actual festival and this afternoon the quartets auditioned in front of the clinicians, our vocal jazz teacher, the dean of the music department, and most importantly (and the most intimidating) the actual invited world renowned, international gold medalists, barbershop quartet "Storm Front." Holy crap. They are ridiculous. Every quartet has a set time to audition between 3 and 5. Then the list of who is singing and at which performance (there are three. 2 tonight and 1 tomorrow) is posted at 5:15. The first concert begins at 6. Crazy! It's so intense because you practice like a mad person for two weeks straight everyday for this one audition and you don't even know whether you'll be performing or not. Messes with peoples minds I tell you. Anyway so last year there were only about 5 quartets so we all got to sing. This year there were 18. Needless to say not everybody got selected to perform. Now, don't think I am getting a big head because I am not, and I am not bragging either. But, my quartet was the only group selected to perform two shows....and they are both the sold out ones! Exciting right? We were stoked. And we feel really blessed, because we didn't feel prepared enough. Our act made up for some of our singing, because I'll admit we are pretty funny. So we performed tonight at 6 and we go tomorrow at 7:30. Cool beans dude.
Now another story. The picture of me wearing those glasses....well those were the glasses I was going to wear for the show, but they didn't look dorky enough. I knew I had a pair of big ugly sunglasses somewhere under my bed and luckily I found them. Popped the lenses out of those suckers.....and then I realized that the only part of the glasses intact was the actual glasses part. The two side ear things had both broken off. Time to get creative. I found a side of another pair of glasses and a handle from some kitchen utensil and electrical taped them to the glasses. Perfection really. And quite resourceful.
Alright something other than barbershop. We had our first opera scenes singing rehearsal and it was smashing. Kris, the lady in charge, was very impressed with me and Rachel for being prepared. I would hope she would be though. We worked our tushies off to get ready. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the Lost season premiere. WHAT?! It was brilliant. Loved it. Wow. I had to watch it on my computer the next day due to me being at school at horrible hours.
I was supposed to have a vocal lesson today but poor Norman couldn't come because of the snow. The roads were pretty sketch. Slush everywhere. Speaking of slush. In Rexburg they don't use salt on the roads. oh no no no they don't. Here they use red rocks. Little evil, red evil pebbles that stain everything they touch. So this morning I am walking from work to class at 9 AM. The rock man is driving behind me. They drive these things that look like the result of a zambonie and a driving lawn mower having a baby. The back of the blasted machine literally shoots out rocks. Really fast too. Like a tennis/baseball ball pitching machine. Dumb kid is going to burn. He drove right next to me.......honest about a foot away....and he didn't turn off the machine so I get pelted with rocks. A lot of red rocks. Flying at my shins 100 miles per hour at close range. I have bruises now. Stupid. I'm going to go eat cereal now. Peace and Salaam. OH and I will post pictures and hopefully a video tomorrow.

Booooooo

Today was and the longest day of my life, at least until tomorrow, because tomorrow will be even longer. I'm tired. I'm cranky. I missed the Lost season premiere because I was at school until 10:30. So now I am showering and going to bed. Friday will probably be the next time I really write things down. Sorry. Time is sparse. Namaste.

Holy Free McNuggets!

What a day! It was busy busy busy. I had class from 7:45 to 4:15. Then Erin and I ran over to this ghetto Mexican restaurant and ate some chips and salsa. Usually at this restaurant the chips and salsa are free, like that heaven sent bread form outback. But, since the chips and salsa were all we wanted they made us pay 3.17. Blasted food industry. Anyway, we ate then came back to school to have Ear Training practice. Then my barbershop quartet practiced until 6:30, when it was time to go meet with our clinician. We lucked out big time. Our aid was the same as last year. This lady (insert whatever name you want because frankly I don't know her's) conducts her own barbershop choir in Salt Lake and last winter she paid special attention to our quartet and helped us out a ton. When we walked in the room and she saw us she gave us all big hugs;it was precious really. Just brilliant. After rehearsal the four of us went to DI to get costumes for the performance this Friday. The sweaters we found are freaking intense. I'll put pictures up later. Hah, actually Kimber's sweater was super static and her scarf started doing crazy stuff. It was so charged that it was moving all over the place on its own and in the excitement of it all I told Laurel to pull out her phone and start recording the whole ordeal for our future posterity when the manager came over and said, "Do you want to put away your camera? We don't allow pictures in here." What!? Crotchity people. We were having innocent scarf fun. Well we left that place and went to McDonalds. This is where the night gets really good. Turns out McDonalds has a text list. Whoever is on the list gets random text messages every once in awhile that say stuff like if you show this text at the counter you'll get a Big Mac for free if you buy another burger. So on and so forth. Well, today Laurel tells us she is on the list and she got a message today that said show this message an you'll get a FREE 6 PIECE McNUGGETS!!!!!!!!!! Fetch! Oh my heck we were all over that. She forwarded the message to all of us and we all got free nuggets. i personally ordered the 99cent ice cream sundae and they puts lots of fudge on it. Finally we ended our night at the dollar store where we all purchased glasses to complete our look for the Barbershop festival. All in all it has been a very good day. I have the best friends ever really. (Those are the new specs. Super high quality eh Daisey. Look familiar?)

MLK...looks like milk. which spelled backwards is klim.

Monday Monday. So good to me.....I think those are the words. Correct me if I am wrong mom. So this morning I woke up at a decent hour and walked myself over to the Snow building and practiced for two hours. It felt amazingly good. Plus all the practice rooms were locked for the holiday so I had to practice in a lecture hall. The acoustics were tight to say the least.
Nyss and I went to IF this afternoon because we both needed new pants. I ended up buying cold stone. Not exactly what I intended. Also tonight we had our first real FHE of the semester. Our activity was that physchiatrist game. It's so much fun. The whole time I was thinking "I read dirty books" *Love you Grandma* After FHE I headed back over to the Snow to practice with my Broadway Revue group and then with my Barbershop Quartet. I got home like 15 minutes ago and it is already 11:30. No complaining though. This is what my days are usually like, but I was enjoying having things easy for a bit. Oh well. Crud! I was supposed to call Dad and I didn't. Mom tell Dad I will call him tomorrow k? Alrighty I better go to bed.
p.s. I did make time to watch an episode of NCIS today. It was nice. Ok Namaste and Salaam

Ahh Sunday

The beautiful thing about Sunday is that you can sleep. The awful thing about Sunday is that you CAN sleep in but are never ABLE to do so. I woke up at around 9 I think, maybe earlier, and once again ate too much food. I was productive though....my entire voice journal is now organized and ready for the semester. The next step is to get all the new repetoire copied and put in the binder, but thats the easy part. On the whole I am satisfied with my accomplishment. Church doesn't start until 1:30 so there was major time to kill before leaving. lame. fastforwarding --> At church I got sustained as Relief Society B visiting teaching supervisor. Joy. No, actually I am really excited to have a calling that doesn't relate to music. It should be a nice change. After church Sarah, Nyss, and I had dinner together then went to meet our new FHE family. They seem normal enough I suppose. My friends Laurel and Rachel invited me over to their house for a potluck. That was fabulous. We played this German card game (one of the boys there went on his mission to Germany, thus the German game) and my team "The Mighty Ducks" lost horribly. When the game ended everybody decided that they wanted Rachel, Laurel and me to sing, so we performed a rousing rendition of the Turkey Song in which I played the role of Turkey. Since coming to college my gobbling abilities have grown tremendously. Later a bunch of us went to Stadium Singing. Oh oh oh! And there is this magnificent igloo that some people built in the stadium. I'm talking like real igloo. After singing we went to go check it out and we fit 9 people in there standing up. Nobody was close to touching and nobody came close to hitting their heads. This thing was legit. Anyway I'm home now and it is very much past my bedtime. But guess what? NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!! Glorious really. Okay I will bid adieu. peace and recycle.

The First Week is Over!!!!!!

Well...I'm sitting at the counter with Nyssa and I decide, well, I'll make a blog. I've wanted to for a while now so voila. I just ate literally eleven servings of applesauce...moving my body has become difficult. Seriously I'm looking at the bottle from which the applesauce used to reside and it says 2 lbs 15 ounces of straight up applesauce. Sick. I bought the thing yesterday. I was supposed to go to my friend Erin's house at eight to watch K3G (a fabulous bollywood movie) but due to my inability to relocate caused by a ridiculous amount of fruit sauce, I am staying home tonight with Nyss. Moving on...

It's hard to believe this week is actually over. I though it might go on forever and ever. Classes aren't awful. In fact I think they might be somewhat exciting. I won't go through my schedule but I am taking Music Lit, Tonal Harmony IV (music theory), Old Testament, Womens Choir, Ear Training III, ummmm oh Opera Scenes (in which I have been cast as Zerlina, the poor peasant girl who when attempting to get married is lured away by the nobleman Don Giovanni who then continues to try and seduce her...fickle girl). What else? Ah yes. Voice lessons with Norman Bailey are thrown in there as well as master class. I haven't had any huge assignments yet just little ones here and there but, they're coming I know it.

Next week BYU-I is having our annual Barbershop Festival. My quartet is coming back again and we're singing Shine on Harvest Moon. Our video of us singing Mr. Sandman last year has over 10, 500 views on youtube. Whaaaa!? Crazy. Basically what I'm trying to say is we're bomb and we're going to put up our next performance on youtube as well. Baahaha and the name of our group is "We're All Single!" Fantastic. Also next week I have auditions for Broadway Revue. My friend Clint and I are going to sing "Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors. Cool beans.

Before I sign off I have to tell about last night. It was probably around 5:30-6ish when Nyss and Sarah and I decided we wanted to play the Office DVD game. So, we did and I lost badly. After said game we continued to sit on the couch; me in the middle. Sarah and Nyssa played games on the internet and I ate ramen noodles. Mind you they were uncooked. Then my roomate Shea (she's black.....remember that. It is important to the story) walked in the room and looked at my noodles and said thats ghhhetto. Giggle Giggle. It was very funny. Later that night we realized we were being very lazy and antisocial on a perfectly normal Rexburg Friday night. The decision was made that Nyssa and I would go to the stadium and build a snowman. Too bad the dang ground was frozen. We ended up coming home and watching Narnia. And so ends our eventful Friday night. Be jealous.

And yes there is a pot on my head.
