Hola amigos!

This is the Duomo. We went there today. Birds attacked me.

Since being in Italy we have been living with a Colombian family. I'm actually surprised with how much Spanish I remember and have been able to use to communicate with them. Last night I woke up at about 3AM and couldn't get back to sleep until about 5. During that time I laid awake going through Spanish in my head. So far so good. They know both of our names, where we're from, about our families, why we're here, bleh bleh bleh. I'm awesome.
For dinner last night we had pizza and flan. Breakfast this morning was yogurt, Special K cereal, and flan. Lunch was pasta with lots of formaggio. Dinner will be who knows what but will probably include flan. Good thing I like flan. OH! And Emma the girl I'm traveling with, snores hard core. Grinds her teeth too. She took Tylenol PM last night to fall asleep and I didn't. So, while she was disturbing the peace I laid there praying for her poor teeth, that they might still be there when she woke up. Hopefully I adjust to the time difference quickly so I can sleep through all that for the rest of our trip. Ciao!

What you've all been waiting for.

And this is what I have to replace it with while I'm in Italy :( My mom's old wedding band. No offense mom.

:(

I never thought I would be reluctant to go to Europe. But I am. Hopefully I get over that real quick. And whoever thought it would be a boy making me feel that way? Ughhhhhhhh I just want to be married! To Hugh! Bleh.

I've got worms

Kidding, no I don't but I'll tell you what. Worms are gross. I dig them up at work everyday. One's as thick as my pinky finger. The worst is when I can feel them squiggling around under my knees... especially when I wear the jeans with the big hole. Yuck. Sometimes I cut the worms in half...on accident.

Surprise!!

Yesterday Hugh flew down to the beach and found a clam shell. Then he pryed it open with his bare hands, took out the pearl, put it in his mouth and crushed it. Then, he replaced said pearl with my ring, closed the clam, and flew back to Idaho. Then, he handed me the clam and told me to open it. I am puny and could not. He opened it for me to reveal my ring. I put on the ring and was instantly given superpowers. Also happiness.
Just kidding, he just handed me my ring out of his backpack in the snow building. Not romantic but,.........I HAVE MY RING AND IT ROCKS!

I love my Mama!

I know this is a day late, and fear not I called my mom and wished her a Happy Mothers day, but I still feel like I need to pay tribute to the woman who birthed me.

M is for the Many thing you do
O is for the Other things you do
T is for The things that you do
H is for How many things you do
E is for Everything you do
R is for the Really good things that you do

There is a nice poem for you. But seriously mom. You are the best. Thank you for absolutely everything you do, have ever done, and will do for me. Sorry for being a twit sometimes; thanks for loving me anyway. You're an inspiration, mentor, and friend to me every day. Love love love love you. Salt pepper shaker, ketchup mustard, tree stump.

The Wedding Dress

I realize that it is unpractical to look online for wedding dresses. What looks good on a digitally enhanced model or on a hanger will probably look like crap on me. Still, I looked. This was my experience:

This little gem is called "The Emily." Hmmmm. I seriously hope this is not what people think of when they think of Emily in a wedding dress. She looks like a awkward fish in that pose.

The next three look like they should be on awkward family photos.com. They are either sisters getting married on the same day or we're celebrating a bonafide California marriage.

Whaaatt??! Don't worry Hugh, I'm not interested.

....and finally. I don't plan on looking like I'm going to kill Hugh on the day we get married. Also, I plan to wash my hair so it doesn't look like this.

Moral of the story. Go to the actual store to find a wedding dress, but if you are in need of a good laugh type modest wedding dresses into Google search and have at it. (and I have no idea what I want my dress to look like. suggestions?)
