it's monday morning at 1:05

.....you know what that means? No school tomorrow! Eat that. I've had a good weekend so far. Saturday I sang in the Idaho State Civic Symphony young artist competition. The winner from my division (both vocal and instrumentalists) won 1000 dollars and they get to sing/play with the Idaho State Symphony. BYUI sweeped. My friend Audrey won the lot. She completely deserves it too. Tell you what though, afterwards in the warmup room they had a plethora of pastries. Took one. yes I sure did. That night I was exhausted but I went to the last two hours of the collegiate retreat. Too tired to eat though. Oh well. I came home and had a cookie. Tonight I organized a poetry reading, very succesful too. We had 13 people and 10 people actually shared poetry. After every reading we snapped. We're so authentic it kills me. Tomorrow laurel and I are going to breakfast, then we have barbershop rehearsal. This year we are singing sh-boom. should be good, but there is a lot of competition this year, so we hope we get into at least one show. Well nighty night then.

back in the saddle again

Back to school. hmmmm. Not quite sure how I feel about it, but alas here I am. The days leading up to school were wonderful. I still don't have a calling, but goodness knows I will in the next two weeks. Yesterday a few of my roomates and I went to Idaho Falls to go to dinner at Carino's. Catchy little slogan writers they have at that carino's. yep. Two can dine for 19.99. So we went. You get two soups/salads, two entrees, and two desserts. Super good deal yes? We thought so. I got chicken penne gorgonzola. I love my stinky cheeses. After dinner we went to see avatar. Sooooooo good. Loved loved loved it. We had the choice to see it in 3D, but my roomate Laurel forgot her glasses at home so she wasn't seeing very well anyway. 2D it was, and still mind blowing. Very sci-fi (not sy-fy...so dumb.) Then after that we went to winco because it is open 24 hours, and it is the biggest grocery store in four hours, so we take advantage of it. Good night overall. Laurel got a salt rock lamp for christmas. Literally it is a salt rock with a hole in it and a bulb. cool huh? I love it. Here's the thing with it. Supposedly they effect moods. There are salt rocks that put out positive energy and there are salt rocks that suck out negative energy. We have a sucker. So every night we sleep with our rock lamp on so that we wake up happy! It's worked so far, I mean I am not the happiest morning person, lets be honest. My family can attest. Here's the problem though. I loooove salt. I'm like my Aunt Julie. We just eat boullion cubes because they are salty and delicious. Anyway. I licked her rock because she told me I can, and now all I want to do is lick it. All the time! I'm so gross. gall dang.



Goal for this year: stop saying "so" so much, especially while typing. it is a bad habit.

today's final

was an epic fail. I might just give up. My GPA is already down the tube. all i care about is singing. thats it.

Finals Latest and Greatest Update

First off let me mention that i know my grammar on this thing is awful. I realize that. i just type these posts when i have asecond and i don't stop to proof read and we all know what a good typist i am right. anyway. so to mom and amy i apoloigize but i am not going to improve. well maybe. but not today. anyway finals update. i calculated when all my finals are here goes:

Friday (as in tomorrow): 1
Monday: 3
Tuesday: 1 (the big one....my jury)
Wednesday: 6
Thursday: 1

I sang...

In master class today. So anch'io la virtu magica from Don Pasquale by Donizetti. and i sang dang well to but Kris wasn't very happy. Don't know why. but she wasn't. well actually i have an idea why she is mad. Hmmmm predictament. She was really happy before i sang and then kind of bleh afterwards. She usually tells her students good job when class is over. I purposely kind of waited around for her and she said nothing. Guess I'll get a mouthful in my lesson thursday. Messiah rehearsl was today as well. Didn't go so great. I wasn't warmed up enough and it was freezing in the ensemble hall and it was morning. Anyway. Hopefull Wednesday goes better. I JUST WANT TO COME HOME!

Opera Scenes

Is over :( Kind of sad really. I mean I have more time now but I really enjoy performing. Now before monday I have to somehow read 10 talks do two quizzes and write 5-6 pages of my research paper...which I don't have any research for. Hmmmm. predictament. Oh and I have to memorize my 13 page song to sing in master class on monday and I have Messiah rehearsal with the symphony on monday as well. Boooooooo I might just have to pick priorites at this point. don't hate me mom. Oh and I have to get my car fixed still. These next two weeks might in fact kill me dead.
