Ugh

I saw this bumper sticker today while driving home.

Some people are really dumb and selfish.

Riggs Halloween Spooktacular

My family has never been "big"on Halloween but it never gets completely neglected. This year Halloween really creeped up on me and I woke up on Monday morning realizing Hugh and I hadn't eaten one piece of Halloween candy, carved a single pumpkin, gone to any parties, etc. Uncool. I set out to fix that and Hugh graciously humored me. It wasn't much, but it made the day actually feel like a holiday.
I surprised Hugh by decorating our apartment with webs and spiders. ....They're still up.
Our dinner; pizza mummies. Hugh married a five year old.
And my personal favorite ghost brownies.

We didn't dress up or have any trick-or-treaters, but we did watch a scary movie and had a good time spending the evening together. I hope everyone else had a Spooktacular Halloween too!

Sweet, sweet liberation

A lot of you heard already but those who didn't last week Tuesday we found maggots crawling up out of our carpet and in our living room. SO disturbing. Especially because I found them while I was lying on the floor exercising and happened to look to my side and see something white wiggling up out of the carpet by my head. Cue lots of (what I think to be) well deserved panicked outbursts such as, "oh, oh, oh, OH, why is this happening to me," and so on. Needless to say once I found one they just kept comin'. I felt really uncomfortable in my own home and had to wear shoes everywhere. Hugh was much more brave than I but whatever. Over the weekend we took a trip up to Pasadena to see everyone, especially Elizabeth, but mostly for my sanity's sake and to get our vacuum so I could go back to San Diego and suck up all those stupid buggers. After finding only a couple live ones on Monday and a thorough vacuuming I am now happy to report that the maggots are gone!......probably because they have all turned into flies now who have in turn laid more babies in my apartment......but until I find them I'M FREE!!

Happy Wednesday World!

OH boy

Hugh woke me up this morning by telling me we were going to exercise....... I've been wanting to start exercising again for quite some time, but today when it actually happened I wasn't as excited as I should have been. It has now been a few hours since the embarrassing scene and my body is in pain, but I'm planning on doing it again tomorrow. Here's to looking really hot.

On another note, Hugh and I went to the Padres vs. Dodgers game on Saturday with his co-workers. The main partner at his firm paid for all of us to go plus for all our food. We had a ton a fun, great seats, and great food, even though the Padres won :) Take a look.

I was absolutely terrified today

When for five minutes I thought I had lost my wedding ring. Ladies has that ever happened to you? Worst. Feeling. Ever.

Today at work...

I found these gems.

Why don't police in America do this? Those Chinese are so clever. (click on all of these to make them bigger).
And they wonder why the adolescent obesity rate is so high in America. . .

Have an awesome Saturday. I sure am.

Happy (late) Fathers Day. . .

These are cake burgers with brownie centers and sugar cookie fries! BAH!
I was down in Utah for my cousin Emily's wedding this past weekend and just got home this afternoon. I had a whole fathers day post planned but I was without a computer, so today will have to do.
First to my Papa: You truely are my hero. Thank you for all you do for our country and for our family. I couldn't ask for a better dad. Love you because I just do. Quack Quack.

(These are cakes by the by...in case you couldn't tell.)

To Brent: Thank you for being my second dad. You have made me feel like your daughter since the first time I came to visit. Love you! I tried to find a Star Craft cake....and failed. So here is a Halo cake :)

And to Hugh, my main man. I just know you are going to be the greatest dad when the time comes. In fact I think you'll be Superman Dad...

I think so because you are the kindest, hardest working, loving, funniest, most wonderful man....and really hot. Love you so much! And thanks for the beautiful roses!

Oh! and look how long my hair is getting! Woot.
